I am a musician and music producer from Dublin, and I have been immersed in music my whole life. Growing up, I learned from my parents who conducted choirs, directed musicals and composed music together. I've been playing piano for as long as I can remember and started producing music when I was a teenager.
I love technology and I worked as a software engineer in London for 15 years. During all that time, I moonlighted as a dance music producer and club DJ! I made music as Phil Mac and performed at venues and festivals across the UK.
In 2018 I joined the fantastic London City Voices choir and met Richard Swan. Richard's approach to choirs inspired me and he helped me develop further as a pianist, arranger and choir leader. Richard and I collaborate on all kinds of projects and you'll occasionally find us sharing piano duties at pub singalongs!
Since returning to Dublin in 2021 I have been directing local choir groups, songwriting/producing with Irish artists and working at Iceberg Audio, a company I founded in 2019 that makes music technology.
I have always felt it would be amazing to have an accessible, fun-loving, non-audition choir in Dublin City Centre that is about celebrating music and this great city. I soon found out that many others felt the same way too so we're going to make it happen with the Dawson Chorus!
I look forward to meeting you at a rehearsal.
